Aarau, Switzerland – 21 February 2013 – Digital asset management (DAM) software maker Picturepark® announced today DAM Guru Program, a new DAM community service that connects digital asset management “Gurus” with DAM “Newbies” looking for advice, and with DAM employers looking to hire. Matches are made based on member profiles, and all services are free.
“DAM Guru Program provides the Digital Asset Management Community with an important service,” said Picturepark global marketing director, David Diamond. “People new to DAM have many questions, but they don’t know where to start. DAM professionals are willing to help, but Newbies don’t know where to find them. DAM Guru Program aims to solve this problem.”
The DAM Guru Program website (http://DAMGuru.com) includes a program signup form, DAM learning resources, a FAQ and a blog that will feature DAM-related articles and “Guru calls” intended to recruit talent. The program will also make announcements via Twitter. (@DAMGuru)
Though financed and managed by Swiss DAM software vendor Picturepark, DAM Guru Program operations are isolated from Picturepark sales operations, to ensure integrity.
“DAM Guru Program must remain DAM software-agnostic, and must be managed in a transparent way people can trust,” explained program manager, Ben Smidt. “Even though Picturepark is in business to sell DAM software, our company has a long-standing history of building and connecting with communities. The goal of DAM Guru Program is to make the DAM community stronger through the free exchange of knowledge, so this was an easy decision for Picturepark.”

About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
