Aarau, Switzerland – 26 September 2012 – Digital asset management (DAM) software maker Picturepark® announced today that BrandPark of South Africa will represent the Picturepark brand throughout Africa. Based in Johannesburg, BrandPark personnel bring years of experience designing and printing publications for African corporations and government agencies.
Government is a sector that BrandPark CEO Mnive Nhlabathi says offers particularly strong potential for Picturepark sales in his region.
“Most government agencies we’ve encountered have no process for managing their digital assets manually, let alone through the use of enterprise-class digital asset management software like Picturepark,” he said. “Offering such a DAM solution is a natural extension to the design and print services we offer now, and it’s something customers have been asking about for a while.”
BrandPark chose to represent Picturepark largely because of the product’s reputation for reliable operation and its flexible underlying technology, which enables it to run the in the Cloud, onsite or in hybrid configurations.
“Our Government customers will most likely run Picturepark onsite, but many of our SMB [small/medium business] customers will prefer Cloud deployment because they won’t have to dedicate internal IT resources,” Nhlabathi explained. “It’s good for us to be able to offer a choice, and it’s good for customers to have a choice.”
Nhlabathi also cited Picturepark’s multi-tenant architecture as an attractive option that would enable his company to sell DAM services to customers who don’t choose to manage DAM systems of their own.
“This year has been our best so far in terms of the expansion of our partner network,” said Picturepark CEO, Ramon Forster. “We’ve been particularly fortunate in finding strong partners, like BrandPark, that extend the reach of Picturepark into regions that would be very difficult for us to properly serve from Switzerland.”
BrandPark is the 10th international partner to join the Picturepark partner network in the past year. Recent additions to the network include Picturepark Solution (Malaysia) , EPYX (Brazil), Gasser Media (Switzerland), One Latam (Spain, Mexico), Idéa7 (France), Topix (Switzerland), Amides (Benelux), Carey Digital (US) and Modula4 (US, Germany).

About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
