Aarau, Switzerland – 20 February 2014 – Help with digital asset management (DAM) is easier to find these days, thanks to DAM Guru Program, a free DAM community service started by Swiss DAM software vendor Picturepark one year ago. During its first year, DAM Guru Program has connected hundreds of digital asset management users from around the world, helped members find work through a virtual job fair, and showcased a selection of “gurus” via weekly profiles posted to its website.
Renewing its commitment to support and grow the program, Picturepark has announced operational changes and new member services that it expects to provide additional value to members and increase membership. Among what’s new, DAM Guru Program members can now host educational webinars about Digital Asset Management and related topics.
“Many of our more experienced members have been working in DAM for 15 years or more,” said program creator David Diamond, who directs marketing for Picturepark and won the 2013 “DAMMY of the Year” award, in part, for DAM Guru Program. “They have a lot of DAM knowledge they want to share with others, so Picturepark wants to do everything we can to make that possible.”
DAM Guru Program managers will handle all webinar logistics, such as signups, reminder emails and promotion. Members need only create and give their presentations.
Launching the new webinar series will be Peter Graham of Cambridge University. Graham will present “Brand Management for Higher Ed” on 11 March 2014. Renowned professional photographer, Bob Hendriks, will then present “DAM in Commercial Photography Environments” on 02 April 2014. Information and free registration for both webinars is available at: http://DAMGuru.com/webinars
Also new, program members are now able to solicit help from any other program members. Previously, only “newbie” members could ask for help. This new change enables guru members to help one another, or just discuss more advanced DAM-related topics.
To further member-to-member communications, Picturepark has launched a DAM Guru Program discussion group on LinkedIn at http://DAMGuru.com/group. Group discussions can be viewed by anyone but DAM Guru Program membership is required to post to the group.
Having received more than 400 signups since launch, and averaging now more than one new signup per day, DAM Guru Program is presumed by its managers to be the world’s largest dedicated database of digital asset management expertise.
DAM Guru Program memberships and services are free. More information is available at the program’s website: http://DAMGuru.com

About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
