Aarau, Switzerland – 04 Oct 2016 – DAM Guru Program (DGP) has received an increase in funding from creator/benefactor, Picturepark. The ongoing investment is intended to increase and improve services the program offers its members.

New to the program’s management are Carol Thomas-Knipes, who will serve as Content Manager, and David Diamond, who will serve as Program Director. Ben Smidt, who has been with the program since its launch in 2013, will continue in his position as Operations Manager.

DAM Guru Program has grown into one of this industry’s most important and valued resources for professionals at all levels,” said Thomas-Knipes. “I’m happy to help make the program an even better resource for the entire content management community.”

Thomas-Knipes brings more than 20 years’ experience in the marketing content technology space. She has spoken at national DAM events and appeared in DAM-related webinars, including Picturepark’s “Be a DAM Superhero.” She co-organizes New York’s NYC DAM Meetup group, the world’s largest DAM meetup. She has implemented and worked in DAM, MRM, project management, content management and workflow solutions in the publishing, retail, entertainment, advertising and healthcare industries.

Diamond designed DAM Guru Program for Picturepark but never previously managed the program in any official capacity. Diamond authored DAM Survival Guide and Metadata for Content Management and was awarded the 2013 DAMMY of the Year. Diamond’s career in digital asset management began with Canto Software in 1998. In 2012, he joined Picturepark, where he serves today as the company’s director of global marketing.

Diamond expects the larger management team to be able to do much more for members.

“Our original goal [for DGP] was simply to connect people,” he said. “Since then, we’ve added many more member services, but we ran short on resources just when we started coming up with some of our best ideas for program expansion. I’m thankful that Picturepark continues to see the benefit in supporting the content community, and has generously agreed to increase its investment in DAM Guru Program.”

Among the latest program offerings from DAM Guru Program include a DAM events calendar, which lists global events of interest to the content management, library science and digital asset management communities.

About Picturepark

Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
