Adaptive Metadata™ content control now available from within the world’s most popular website content management system
DAM Connector for WordPress from Picturepark
Aarau, Switzerland – 22 Nov 2016 – Digital asset management software maker Picturepark® announced today DAM Connector for WordPress. The new connector, built on Picturepark’s content connector framework, links Picturepark DAM to the WordPress® WCMS, enabling website creators to find and place content stored in Picturepark.
“We love WordPress, but the WordPress media library is always frustrating to anyone who is used to true digital asset management,” said Picturepark global marketing director, David Diamond, whose team uses the website CMS daily. “Now we can bypass the weakest part of WordPress, while levering the strongest part of Picturepark—Adaptive Metadata.”
The advantages DAM Connector for WordPress offers include:
- On-demand access to enterprise-wide content repositories from within WordPress
- Content search that is based on Adaptive Metadata™, not just file names
- Single-source content updates that propagate across websites automatically
- Picturepark-direct live streaming of video and audio
By connecting WordPress to an enterprise-wide Picturepark content store, WordPress editors have direct access to everything they need, without having to download from one system and then upload into WordPress.
A single metadata tag added to a piece of content in Picturepark provides all the metadata fields required to use that content from within WordPress. Picturepark Adaptive Metadata™ layers prevent WordPress metadata fields from appearing on content not intended or approved for website use.
Website editors have the option to link to Picturepark content directly from WordPress posts or pages, or they can copy content into the WordPress media library. In either case, when the content is updated in Picturepark, WordPress can be updated automatically.
Access statistics for Picturepark-direct content links are available inside Picturepark. When using Picturepark with additional business systems, such as a product information manager (PIM) or enterprise resource planner (ERP), Picturepark becomes a central hub that provides global content access and usage statistics for all channels.

Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
