Aarau, Switzerland – 13 September 2012 – Digital asset management (DAM) software maker Picturepark® announced today that EPYX Editorial Solutions Limited of São Paulo, Brazil, has signed on as a regional distributor for the Swiss DAM vendor. EPYX has established itself as a prominent Brazilian software authority, providing software distribution and services for Adobe and WoodWing digital publishing systems.
“No software reseller in Brazil has more publishing experience than EPYX,” said Hector Medina, Picturepark’s Director of Sales for the Americas. “EPYX will enable Picturepark to address the increasing demand for Picturepark/WoodWing publishing systems throughout Brazil.”
Antonio Lapa founded EPYX in 2005 to provide WoodWing software sales to a market in which publishing remained strong, and digital publishing was about to burst wide open. In the years since, the company has amassed more than 20 partner resellers throughout Brazil, and more than 50 direct customers, each of whom are now leveraging the power of the WoodWing digital publishing system.
“Publishing in Brazil is very strong right now,” Lapa explained. “There are more than 3,500 newspapers in this country, and no less than 2,500 of them are viable targets for Picturepark/WoodWing publishing systems. And this doesn’t begin to consider magazines and book production, both very strong too.”
Lapa chose to represent Picturepark digital asset management software to his customers for a few reasons.
“Seeing how the WoodWing community has blessed Picturepark made it clear which DAM they consider to be the best fit,” he said. “Plus, Picturepark offers things that other WoodWing DAMs don’t—it runs onsite or in the Cloud, and it supports load-balancing and fail-over, which are all very important for professional Publishing.”
Lapa saw Picturepark’s global success in non-publishing markets as an important added bonus.
“EPYX will use Picturepark to help us move into corporate environments that are not focused on publishing. This is a market that’s virtually untouched in Brazil, and it’s growing.”
When the WoodWing Next Wave Tour visits São Paulo on September 19, 2012, EPYX will be on hand to demonstrate the benefits of the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), WoodWing and, of course, Picturepark.
“It will be our chance to introduce Picturepark to the more than 120 attendees we’ll see at Next Wave,” Lapa said. “Many of these companies already know the value of DPS and WoodWing, but they ask about a suitable DAM component. Picturepark is the best fit, so we’re so pleased to be able to offer it to them.”

About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
