Aarau, Switzerland – 04 April 2012 – Digital asset management (DAM) software maker Picturepark® announces as of today the public release of their SDK. Based on the Picturepark® SDK, technology integrators can easily integrate their CMS, PIM, Social Media or other applications into the next generation Digital Asset Management system Picturepark for building comprehensive new solutions.
In a move forward to cope with increased demand for integration of their next generation DAM solution, Picturepark® announces to open their SDK to the broad public as of today. This allows developers to custom-integrate the Picturepark DAM system into their own CMS, PIM, Social Media, editorial system or any other application.
The Picturepark SDK consists of a set of well-documented Webservice
methods that allow comprehensive read-access to assets, metadata,
categories and configuration and to authenticate users with Picturepark.
Such integrated applications can e.g. search and download assets from
Picturepark DAM and further process, distribute or reference these
assets and metadata.
Developers who have successfully integrated using the Basic SDK can send in their code together with access to a working sample of the solution for review and certification.
Once certified, a developer will also gain access to the more richly featured Extended Webservice allowing for more comprehensive interaction with Picturepark. Picturepark intends to also directly sponsor interesting integrations and promote these among the Picturepark community.
In addition to the release of the Picturepark SDK, the license of the entry level DAM product Picturepark® Starter is extended to also cover the Basic Webservice. All existing customers with a Picturepark 8 license will receive a license upgrade for the public Webservice.
About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
