Picturepark Regional Clouds to Provide Local SaaS DAM Worldwide
Aarau, Switzerland – 04 December 2013 – Picturepark partners can now provide Cloud-based digital asset management (DAM) services to customers in their regions, extending the benefits of enterprise-class Cloud DAM to more organizations. Picturepark Regional Clouds run on standard Picturepark software, which includes the built-in support for secure multi-tenant and multi-instance deployment that is required for “private Cloud” deployment.
“Some organizations run Picturepark on-premise because corporate or governmental regulations prevent them from storing data on foreign soil” said Picturepark CEO, Ramon Forster, “Picturepark Regional Clouds provide the benefits of SaaS-based Picturepark, while they ensure that metadata and assets are stored and managed locally, by certified professionals.”
The first Picturepark Regional Cloud has been launched by Australia’s DataBasics.
“Many Australian firms want Cloud-based DAM but prefer or require local management,” said DataBasics Director, Ricky Patten. “DataBasics has offered DAM-related solutions and services for over 15 years. Now with our Picturepark Regional Cloud, we offer DAM-as-a-service for the first time—and the solution is fully hosted and managed by an Australian-owned company.”
The Picturepark Regional Cloud is a hardware/software specification and training curriculum that enables qualified partners to offer software-as-a-service (SaaS) DAM that is backed by service-level agreements (SLA) and technical support.
The Regional Cloud can be used to offer multi-tenant Cloud DAM services, whereby each customer shares a secured portion of a single Picturepark instance, or multi-instance
services, through which each customer receives its own discrete
Picturepark instance. In either case, each customer account can be fully
branded and an unlimited number of users and user groups can be
provided.
About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
