Aarau, Switzerland – 08 September 2014 – Digital asset management (DAM) software maker Picturepark® and new technology partner Sitecore, maker of CMS and customer experience management software, have been named “Trend Setting Products for 2014” by KMWorld Magazine. According to the magazine’s website, honorees were chosen for either creating a market, extending a market or redefining a market. More than 600 products were considered in this year’s evaluations.
“Picturepark and Sitecore were selected by the panel because they demonstrate thoughtful, well-reasoned innovation and execution for the most important constituency of them all: the customer,” said Hugh McKellar, Editor in Chief for KMWorld Magazine.
Picturepark has made waves in the DAM industry with its unique Adaptive Metadata technology, which enables users to alter metadata schemas on a per-asset basis. The metadata fields Picturepark users see can be tailored to each digital asset’s content rather than their file formats or a general metadata schema shared across the entire system.
KMWorld specifically noted the NoSQL-based search layer Picturepark has grafted over its SQL-based search engine. This “best of both worlds” approach to digital asset management provides users with extremely fast searching over large collections, while it ensures that underlying data structures are governed and protected by the assurances offered by the industry-standard SQL protocol.
Earlier this month, Picturepark announced the Picturepark DAM Connector for Sitecore, which bridges Sitecore to Picturepark DAM in ways not available with other DAM connectors for Sitecore.

About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
