San Francisco, California – 24 June 2014 – DAM Guru Program, the world’s largest community of Digital Asset Management professionals, announced today that more than 500 membership applications have been processed since the program was launched in January of 2013.
“The DAM community’s enthusiasm for DAM Guru Program demonstrates how much a program like this was needed,” said Ramon Forster, CEO for Swiss DAM vendor Picturepark, the company who created and manages the program. “DAM Guru Program has become the place for DAM professionals and newcomers to share ideas and we couldn’t be happier to see it thrive.”
Program manager Ben Smidt credits much of the program’s recent success to member-generated content that provides targeted DAM-related training that was previously unavailable.
“We have provided member-hosted webinars that have covered such detailed topics as DAM color management, brand management for universities, DAM management in photography studios and even an ROI case study based on a real-world example. You won’t see content like this from organizations that have something to sell because there’s no call-to-action that could lead to revenue. It’s just random DAM knowledge.”
A recent addition to the program’s website is a digital asset management jobs board. Hiring organizations can post DAM jobs for free. Job applications can be submitted right from the DAM Guru Program website and a selection of DAM Guru Program member skill profiles are available for viewing.
DAM Guru Program services are free to members and there is no charge to join. Memberships are open to any individual who has DAM knowledge to share or who seeks to learn more about the profession. Organizations seeking to fill DAM-related positions should contact the program to distribute their listings across the membership base. Member-to-member sales solicitations are not permitted, to help ensure a pressure-free environment in which members can learn without distraction.

About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
