Aarau, Switzerland – 14 May 2014 – Digital asset management (DAM) software maker Picturepark now enables website visitors to download its digital asset management white papers and eBooks without filling out forms. The Swiss company sites increasing global concerns about privacy as a primary motivator for the decision.
“We don’t need to collect names and email addresses in order to help educate the DAM community,” said Picturepark CEO Ramon Forster. “People don’t want to provide personal information to companies unless it makes sense. And it doesn’t make sense when all you want to do is read a white paper.”
Three titles are immediately available for direct download: Enterprise DAM Checklist, DAM Prep in 7 Steps and the Picturepark excerpt of DAM Survival Guide. All future titles will also be available without download forms.
“Marketing is about building trust, not email lists,” said Picturepark marketing director, David Diamond. “Our eBooks and white papers reflect well on the Picturepark brand because they are good and they don’t try to sell software. The relationships we build through our DAM community-education efforts are much richer than any we might start by sending unsolicited email.”
As a matter of policy, Picturepark has never treated downloaders as sales prospects, so the company expects no operational changes as a result of the decision. The few forms that remain on the company’s website are required for requests for which personal contact information is required for contact reasons, such as Picturepark demo account requests and DAM Guru Program memberships.
Picturepark webinar recordings have been available without sign-up forms since 2012.
