Aarau, Switzerland – 29th November 2019 – Swiss digital content management provider Picturepark® has announced the new features, upgrades and changes that will be covered in the November 2019 update to their Picturepark Content Platform. The release was made generally available, in full, on 27th November 2019. The release features an extension of the Business Process Engine, enhanced SDK samples, UX improvements and general bug fixes.
The update introduces a new UI for the highly-capable Business Process Engine (BPE), which can be used for configuration, creating new actions or conditions; as well as the time-saving capability of automating tagging of content items.
“With this release we continue to demonstrate the many things made possible by this powerful workflow automation feature. And we will support advancements in Business Process Management (BPM) relevant for better automation in content management in upcoming releases too” said Stefan Seidl, Picturepark Product Manager.
Omnichannel provider Picturepark also included in the release the ability to define dynamic custom output formats for images, which will be rendered only on request. After these outputs have been rendered, they are cached; enabling other Picturepark users to access them instantly from cache and if required via a CDN too. This is accompanied by the enhanced ability to configure download filenames for both virtual and file content items, based on technical and descriptive metadata.
The new SDK features a service provider sample (GitHub) that also explores new Business Process Engine features, such as consuming a Business Rule generated message, starting a business process using the API, reporting on progress and handling a cancellation triggered from within the Picturepark Content Platform. Picturepark provides these additional samples to a growing community of developers that will find it easier in realising more of the potential of their powerful REST API, as part of their API-first approach.
The full list of improvements, bug fixes and more can be found in the official November 2019 release notes.
