Date: 11-Jun-2022 (TBC)
- Main changes:
- Welcome Dashboard
- Focal Point Creation & Editing
- Conversion Presets
- Transfer Ownership via Automation
The Rigi, 1797m, is located in the heart of Central Switzerland and is easily accessible from every direction. The whole massif is almost entirely surrounded by the water of three different bodies of water: Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug, and Lake Lauerz. The name Rigi originates from the old swiss word “Rigi” which means “strip” or “band”. The name was interpreted as Regina montium "queen of mountains" by Albrecht von Bonstetten (1479).
Please note that this is preliminary information, not binding, and subject to change. Any major fully binding changes will be announced in the week of the official release.
The new Dashboard guides users after login to relevant resources and provides additional information such as usage instructions.
The new dashboard page can be customized to show all information relevant to your users. It helps users navigate through content in Picturepark via visually enticing direct links to channels, content items or search results, or a prominent search bar, and you can provide any other text elements.
You can modify the dashboard in Settings > Templates to your needs. Customization can be made directly in HTML and CSS (limited use of code), and you can add predefined widgets like Search Box (1), Banner (2), Welcome text (3), and Cards with embedded items as preview images (4). Each card can link to search results or channels, or any external URL.
Users who wished to skip the dashboard can bookmark the Content Browser with the following URL: [customername].picturepark.com/contents
Possible content you can present here includes:
Approved digital assets for campaigns or general use.
Branding material such as your logos in all variations.
Latest product content such as images or datasheets.
Latest sales toolkit such as battle cards or presentations.
Usage instructions and quick guides for Picturepark.
Focal Point Editor.
Editors can edit and manage focal points provided by AI, or create their own focal points manually.
The new focal point editor for images enables users to create, update or remove focal points created by an AI provider such as Clarifai or Azure. Permitted users can either create single focal points or bounding boxes that surround an object such as a face.
Focal points can be defined by entering directly into data fields or using pointing devices such as a mouse. For each focal point, a confidence interval, a name and a reference can be provided. All information will be saved into the Image Analytics Layer of the image.
Editors can convert their conversion settings in the media editor into templates for easy access and reuse by permitted users.
Editors can now save their settings defined in the Media Editor as presets for later re-use for the same image if used regularly. Other users can apply the conversion presets when using the image for different purposes or channels, such as when publishing it onto your website or commerce stores or when creating social media posts.
Each image can have its own specific conversion presets. Additionally, editors can convert image-specific presets into conversion preset templates that can be applied to any image. These conversion preset templates are defined in the settings and available to permitted users.
Common conversion preset templates are in use for
Website hero or header images.
Product shots used in commerce stores.
Detail extracts from large-scale images.
Different social media channels.
Placeholders in sales presentations.
Picturepark can now transfer ownership automatically e.g. when content is uploaded or approved.
Picturepark Automation can transfer ownership of Content Items when certain conditions are met. Editors can now set up production workflows with multiple steps and various responsible persons, using Picturepark automation to change ownership when content has been uploaded by certain users or content has been approved and is ready to be published and assigned to new responsible persons.
Among others, the following workflows are possible:
When an agency uploads content, Picturepark assigns the permission "To be approved by admin" and changes the owner to the responsible admin, who is then notified as the new content owner.
When your agency XY uploads content items, then Picturepark automatically assigns the correct values for Responsible and Copyright and assigns the content authority as the owner to validate the agency content.
When editors upload new product content Picturepark transfers ownership to the product management editor to validate the content before publishing, additionally showing a notification to this user that new content is ready for editing.
Send notification to owners of specific content updates, so Picturepark can (in combination with other conditions) automate the complete lifecycle of contents (draft, approve, reject, etc.).
Further Notable Changes.
New features for the relationship field now enable users to switch between thumb and list view of content in such fields, and browse through all the content in the Content detail view. Editors can also sort one or multiple content items directly within the field. Note that this feature is not available for list items.
Business Rule notifications support audit variables so notifications can be configured to always show the email address of the modifying user or the user name who created (uploaded) content.
The template manager in the settings area used to create and update share templates, the new dashboard and more has undergone technology and UX improvements such as providing better navigation through templates
Changes To API & SDKs.
With the upcoming Picturepark Release “Rigi” (v11.3), we will introduce API changes, which you might want to consider reviewing if you are responsible for integration. Please find details here:
Please check if the changes will affect your integration and adapt it accordingly if needed. If you use our SDK`s or samples like the Content Portal, we recommend updating to the latest version:
We developed a complete new Content Picker that introduces a better user experience and also includes the Picturepark Image Editor. Please find the latest version here. The older version of the Content Picker is deprecated with this release.
Suppose you want to test your changes in advance. In that case, we can provide you with a functionally limited clone running on the latest 11.3 preview code base within our stage environment (free provisioning of such a stage system depends on your subscription plan or partner status).
