Create and Connect
Content creation tools like InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Word are great for making creative works. But much of today’s content must adhere to strict structures that enforce consistency for efficient processing and right formatting across varied channels.
Picturepark manages file-based content such as images, videos or documents, and fileless content for which you define its purpose and structure via schema and field properties.
All of us use strictly structured content: When posting via Twitter or Facebook, we enter text and links to an image into a clearly defined form, and the social media site formats it into a post that looks nice. This is how creating strictly-structured content works in Picturepark too.
For example, when creating a product listing for a particular target group, you simply select the right type of listing, search and pick products from the master list, enter a teaser or key features that should be promoted, and add files or links to further product resources – as required by the form. This creates a new virtual content item which can be routed where needed for further processing or publishing.
As an alternative to human editors, content items can also be created by connected systems via API or via workflows within the Content Platform.
Creating strictly structured content with Picturepark, businesses can manage huge amounts of content in a more automated and reliable way where everything remains within guidelines for design, policy and processing.
Route Strictly Structured Content
Once you have created strictly-structured content inside Picturepark, you can route it where needed for further processing or publishing via specific channels.
- Microsites — Embedded mini websites or targeted stand-alone portals for users to search and browse through Picturepark content or data.
- Mobile apps — Apps for mobile phones and tablets which pull content for engaging users on the go.
- POS & Digital Signage — Terminals and displays which pull content to meet the “micro moment” of a targeted persona.
- Business systems — Any system which further processes or publishes strictly-structured content such as a Web CMS, e-commerce shop, PIM system, and similar.
