Invisible User Experience
The Picturepark DAM Connector for SharePoint is so deeply integrated into the SharePoint environment, that there is virtually nothing new for users to learn. Inside the SharePoint toolbar, users see a few new icons they can use to work with Picturepark assets.
Federated Search across SharePoint and Picturepark
SharePoint search finds assets in SharePoint and Picturepark, so there’s no need to search in multiple locations. Picturepark assets are indexed by SharePoint, so results appear fast.
The assets available to SharePoint are determined by Picturepark permissions. This enables system administrators to protect the content that shouldn’t be used within SharePoint, and it saves SharePoint users from having to guess what they can and cannot use.
Picturepark metadata can be displayed within SharePoint. Picturepark’s Adaptive Metadata technology is fully supported, making dynamic metadata schemas available in SharePoint for the first time.
Multi-format Download Options
When downloading assets, SharePoint users choose among the multiple formats available to them. Conversions are handled by Picturepark, so there’s no need for users to use Photoshop or another image editing tool to get images suitable for PowerPoint, websites, print or other uses.
Permitted users can also perform on-the-fly image edits to get exactly the crop and size they need.
SharePoint Folders that Link to Picturepark Digital Assets
Users can create new SharePoint folders that include manually selected Picturepark assets (static folders) or collections that can be updated by Picturepark users or workflows (dynamic folders).
Static folders are useful when you want to group specifically chosen assets, such those used within a given project, or a set of approved logos. Dynamic collections are perfect for “what’s new” collections, assets grouped by client, or other purposes that can be determine by rules.
Dynamic collections are also a great way make extremely large Picturepark collections available from within SharePoint, because they require virtually no SharePoint storage space.
Place Images, Videos and More in SharePoint Team Sites
SharePoint users can also add individual assets to SharePoint team site pages. Images, videos, audio files, PDFs, PowerPoints and virtually any other file format can be added. Links to Picturepark assets can also be added. When users click those links, the files are downloaded directly from Picturepark.
Make SharePoint Work for Creatives
SharePoint document management works great for Microsoft Office files and a few other formats, but when it comes to managing the files your Creative and Marketing teams use, you need more. With Picturepark DAM Connector for SharePoint, users can access any file type they need, without having to go to another location or learn a new software program.
Users who prefer the DAM-focused Picturepark interface can connect directly to Picturepark to access the very same assets available to them in SharePoint. This enables them to lever additional Picturepark capabilities, such as subscriptions, asset sharing, version access and more.
A Bridge between SharePoint, Creative Cloud, Office and More
Your Creative teams likely spend more time in Adobe Creative Cloud than they do in SharePoint, but you don’t want to manage multiple sets of digital assets. Acting as a hub for SharePoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sitecore, Microsoft Office, YouTube and more, Picturepark provides a bridge between your teams. Everyone has instant access to the files they need, in the formats they need, making cross-departmental collaboration easier and more efficient.
SharePoint’s .NET-based DAM Partner
Picturepark and SharePoint are built on the same Microsoft .NET framework. This means there’s no new hardware for you to buy, and your IT team will appreciate enterprise-class digital asset management software they understand and can trust.
Using SharePoint Connector and the Picturepark Web-services API, your internal development teams can build connectors between Picturepark and your other .NET-based enterprise software too.
