Field Types

The following field types are available in Picturepark:

Field Types

Purpose

Examples

Notes

Checkbox

Values that are always one of two options (Boolean), such as on/off, yes/no, true/false, etc.

Checkbox with the name "Release Signed" to denote whether a release has been signed or not for the photo in question.

Will always have included in the search and filters set to true per default on creation. You can change this.

The simple search in the content browser cannot be used to find true or false values. In such a case we recommend adding a channel filter.

Please note Picturepark does not have a null state for checkboxes.

DateTime

Date value alone, or combined date and time value. Once selected this cannot be changed.

On creation of a Date Field there is a string field called "Format". The JSON Schema Date Pattern is supported e.g MM/DD/YYYY or DD-MM-YYYY hh:mm:ss for example.

The defined format will overwrite the default Picturepark display in the date/time picker for that particular field wherever it is used.

Valid to or Valid from information for copyrights

Dates for Events

Employee Birthdays

Will always have included in the search and filters set to true per default on creation. You can change this.

The simple search in the content browser cannot be used to find dates. In such a case we recommend adding a channel filter.

Number

Numeric value that is either a whole number or a decimal value. Once selected this cannot be changed.

On creation of a Number field you can add a Pattern. A JSON Schema regex can be used. See here for valid examples: https://spacetelescope.github.io/understanding-json-schema/reference/regular_expressions.html.

Minimum and maximum values that can be entered into the field can also be specified.

Exchange rate for Currency

Product prices

Will always have included in the search and filters set to true per default on creation. You can change this.

Geo Point

A Geo Point field is a field where you can enter latitude and longitude information for your location. This will then be displayed as a clickable link when not in edit mode that will take the user to Google maps once clicked.

Geo Point fields will automatically limit latitude entries to ranges 90, -90 and longitude entries to -180, 180.

Here is the link created for our Head Office in Aarau:

Entering the details on the content after applying the layer that has the relevant Geo Point field created:

Cannot be included in the search.

Cannot be sorted.

We do not automatically create a link with a marker.

Text

Text that can be a single line or include multiple paragraphs. Once selected this cannot be changed.

You can also choose to have translations available. A JSON Schema regex can be used. See here for valid examples: https://spacetelescope.github.io/understanding-json-schema/reference/regular_expressions.html.

Titles

Descriptions

A North American telephone number with optional area code. Example Regular Expression you can enter (\\([0-9]{3}\\))?[0-9]{3}-[0-9]{4}$. In that case 555-1212 is valid but (800)FLOWERS is invalid.

Will always have included in the search and filters set to true per default on creation. You can change this.

Can have analyzers set for the search

Can have translations

Tagbox

Link to one or more List items. Once selected this cannot be changed.

Is great for controlling vocabulary while still having all the information required in the linked list.

Tagbox for products connected to a list of Products.

Search entries will depend on the list you connect.

Item filters can be added.

Minimum and maximum entries can be set.

Fieldset

When you create a new FieldSet field, you will choose a List to be used as a schema for values that will be provided by users for multiple instances of the same information. These Lists should be created in advance, and designed exclusively for this purpose.

Addresses

Usage details

Comments

Cannot be sorted

Cannot be added to filters.

Cannot be batch edited

All entries in a FieldSet are indexed. When a search match is made, the parent Content item is displayed.

Relationship

Link to one or more Content items

With Relationship fields, a List schema is used to provide context that describes the connection between the parent and related objects. When you create a new Relationship field, you will choose a List to be used as a schema for values that will be provided by users. These Lists should be created in advance, and designed exclusively for this purpose.

On a Content item for a product, you might have a Relationship field for product photos. In your relationship schema for this field, you might have a single field for "View" that is, in turn, assigned to a List that provides the values Front, Top and Side.

When a user relates a photo to the product Content item, the field for "View" would appear, enabling the user to define the context of the related image. When the Content item was published, this contextual information would be available.

In addition to View, your relationship schema could include fields for Caption or any other content you require to further define the context in which the related content is used.

Cannot be sorted

Cannot be added to filters.

Important to note is that you can set index and search on relationship fields, however the content browser search will only deliver results back for the content item on which the relationship is entered.

Trigger

A button, which stores the last execution timestamp and information on the user that triggered it. To be used for triggering business processes and accessible via the API too.

Permitted users can trigger a business process directly from the content detail view.

Content suppliers assign a layer to contents where copyright information is missing. This layer holds a trigger called "Get Copyright Details" which is used in a business process that updates copyright details like source and original title and usage restrictions. The content creator can trigger the copyright update when the content is used in campaigns to save credits on stock platforms.

Content creators can assign a layer to content they plan to use in campaigns. This layer holds a trigger field which starts a business process that executes a reverse image search to check if the image is currently use on competitor campaigns. The content creator can trigger the image check only for the preferred imagery.

The AI-powered business process for image tagging will assign a layer on import that will hold all automatic tags. Those tags require human review and cleanup. After manual cleanup and removal of wrong tag assignments a trigger field will start a business process that copies the reviewed and correct tags into the real metadata layers that are used in the search.

No direct configuration of actions.

Cannot be added to filters.

Available via user interface and API.
